This project was part refurbishment and part new-build and was completed in 2010.
We worked with Linden Homes and Stride Treglown to update Brunel’s Steam Engine Factory and replicated the same features in the new building to connect the two.
There were various techniques used to make the most of this refurbishment; the feature arch-headed windows were made as square panels internally and finished off with trims externally to appear as arched frames. Narrow window ‘strips’ were used in the apartment kitchens to allow air and light in without compromising privacy.
We used tilt/turn windows and entrance doors for this project.
